A simple idea, but new take on Energy weapons.
The idea is, once you have been drained past 0 Regen, your Regeneration becomes negative. You begin to take that much damage end of every turn instead.
I would change Call of Lightning in such a manner. Being a Rare weapon, the Energy drain damage should be lowered to -40 Drain and -10 Energy Damage.
Sparks ---> -35 Drain and -17 Energy Damage.
Yoshimo Blade ---> -20 Drain and -25 Energy Damage.
Super Nova ---> Unchanged
Big Bang(New Weapon) ---> -45 Energy Damage 1 use
Electricon ---> Unchanged
Evil Sparks ---> -18 Drain and -3 energy Damage
This would sort of give energy mechs many different ways to play. It would also allow energy mech to punish energy-gate mechs that use absolutely no energy.
Yes I am referring to drones like electricon and Sector Eye. As well as effectively countering Mech that use no energy while still stacking up on HP and Heat.

It can be tweaked easily. These are just examples. Like each sword's energy damage can vary for 5-10. The idea is to be able squeeze out more damage per hit as you continuously hit them.

That would change the entire gameplay, not everyone has some epic energieboosts, otherwise heatingweapons should deal an heat-over-time effect, making it maybe more interesting but hard to balance. So I say sorry, not really
